What did you do this weekend, degen?

Go outside and enjoy life like a normal person?

Nah, I didn't think so.

You did what every irresponsible crypto addict does: clutched your $ETH, your Base tokens, and every alt you could get your hands on, watching them giga-pump to levels we haven’t seen in months… maybe years.

If you’ve been holding for a long time, it was one of those “just stare at the chart” kind of weekends.

And if you’re deep in the Base ecosystem - and happened to buy any of last Wednesday’s newsletter picks - you’re probably sitting 30-100% up on those bags.

But despite everything pumping, I want to focus again on Base today. I really think it’s going to be Base season for a while… and there are still gems out there that haven’t even started moving yet.

Setting the stage

Last week, we covered how Base is basically a cheat code.

Since then, a lot has happened:

• Dex Trading went live in the Coinbase app, meaning any token on Base can now be bought directly by 100M+ retail users without needing to bridge or set up a separate wallet. That’s the degen equivalent of opening up 401ks to crypto trading (which ALSO happened).

• $AERO pumped 70%. Aerodrome is Base’s leading DEX and will be a major benefactor of this integration. $AERO is their token.

• $ETH ripped past $4,300, meaning anything Ethereum-adjacent is in play.

This first catalyst is massive; Base is now the first L2 with direct, frictionless retail access. No bridges. No new wallets. Just tap, buy, done.

Plenty of Base tokens have already been pumped, but I think I’ve found a few that still haven’t moved enough yet. Here’s what I’m watching:

$EDGE - The everything platform token

Definitive is a cross-chain trading platform built by former Coinbase employees (which we know is giga-bullish). They’re shipping fast and hitting pain points that Base struggles with. Here’s what they offer:

• Gasless limit orders

• TWAP trades (size in/out over time)

• Support for HyperEVM, Base, Solana, and more

Rumors of token buybacks are floating around, and they’re building social tools like a Zora dashboard for trending tokens.

Why I like it:

Only 20% of tokens are circulating, leaving room for staking/trading rewards and other incentives. Devs are aggressive and will likely push to rival Aerodrome for liquidity.

$VVV - The AI giant hiding in plain sight

Erik Voorhees - yes, that Erik Voorhees (ShapeShift founder) - launched Venice AI, an open-source AI hub running on decentralized GPUs.

The platform’s token was originally airdropped to various communities, and can also be staked for yield and “AI Credits” - which have since been tokenized as their own currency. 

It had a rocky start: listed on Coinbase on day one, then dumped hard amid insider-trading accusations. But FUD often precedes pumps. Right?

Why I like it:

• Voorhees is still building aggressively

• Nansen shows Smart Money inflows up 65% in 30 days (below)

• User growth is accelerating

• Chart looks primed for a breakout (may need a retest first)

$IRIS - The launch that killed Virtuals

Biggest launch ever on Virtuals Genesis. 

First Virtuals token on Ethereum Mainnet.

Full backing from the Ethereum Foundation - in fact, one of its co-founders runs the project.

So why the hell does the chart look like this??

Well, $IRIS dropped right at the peak of Virtuals Genesis. In fact, you could argue that it was the top signal, after drawing in so much hype and attention.

But I’m bullish. And I think this thing could fly.

What it does:

I.R.I.S. is an AI bot on X that audits smart contracts in real time. DM it an address, and it can spot bugs/security risks instantly.

Why I like it:

It’s a killer product in a market that badly needs better security tooling. No Coinbase listing yet… but with Ethereum Foundation roots, it’s not crazy to imagine one.

Note: It’s on Mainnet, so won’t be part of the Base DEX integration - but that may actually keep it off most radars for now. But it’s Base-adjacent, being part of the Virtuals eco. So I tossed it in here.

Wrapping up

So… does this pump sustain? 

Does $ETH hold above $4K? Does Base cool off, or are we just getting started?

Hard to bet against Coinbase when they just handed their 100M+ users a direct pipe into Base tokens.
